The goal of this one-day workshop is not only to teach you the principles of mental fitness training, but also to guide you on a step-by-step process in which you will develop a personalised mental training plan for you or your athletes for 2013. [break][/break] [break][/break]Guaranteed NO psychological babble, instead I will tell you in everyday language what works and what doesn’t, when it comes to enhancing performance.  I am going to pack this workshop with case studies, demonstrations and simple but effective exercises that I use everyday with World Champions, Olympic Athletes, National football champions and professional golfers to help them reach their full potential. Part 1[break][/break]

Getting the right start – Developing Commitment and Confidence[break][/break]
  • I introduce you to the basic principles of Mental Fitness for Sport. I start by showing you how you can build mental toughness, which is an essential skill of any competitive athlete.[break][/break]
  • Then I bring you through a powerful goal setting exercise specific to you because you are more likely to reach somewhere when you know where you want to go.[break][/break]
  • Motivation is key to success of athletes of all levels, and it ebbs and flows throughout the season; I show you how to monitor your motivation and boost it whenever you need it.[break][/break]
  • Finally, I give you the information you need to increase your confidence, because without confidence in your own skills and abilities, you can’t compete at your optimum, no matter how talented you are or how much you have worked.

 

Part 2[break][/break]

Creating Focus and Composure
  • In part 2 I look at some other key components that you need in your pursuit of excellence.  I explain the basics of concentration and focus – what it is, how to do it, when to do it and when not to do it.
  • I then cover the keys to keeping composed under pressure in big moments – you learn simple but effective ways to keep calm on the start line or during an event, stay cool while you take a high pressure free kick or relax and sink that putt.
  • I then teach you the basics of mental imagery – which is one of the tools that all pro’s use to be their best.
  • I demonstrate how self-talk can help or hurt your performance and show you how you can use it to gain advantage.
  • Finally, I help you master the task-management principle of the best athletes in the World, which will allow you to do more in less time.

 

For you to walk away at the end of the day with your own personalised Mental training Plan for 2013, it is not enough that you come to just sit and listen to me, you will have to do some work. For this reason I would suggest you come in casual dress, bring pen and paper and have an open mind.

Q. What time do I show up for the workshop?
A. Registration starts 30 minutes prior to the workshop. Please arrive early.[break][/break][break][/break]
Q: What is the cost of the workshop?
A: The cost of the seminar is only €197 which includes back-up for three months, either by phone or email.[break][/break][break][/break]
Q: What are my payment options?
A: We accept most forms of payments.  When reserving a place on the workshop you will have the option of paying your €50 deposit by paypal in advance, However if you wish to pay via cheque or bank transfer you can email alanhearytraining@gmail.com.  You can pay the balance on the day by cash or cheque.[break][/break][break][/break]
Q. If I register and I am not able to make it will I still have to pay?
A: Absolutely not!  We understand there will be situations that come up and you may not be able to make it.  All we ask is that you be serious and considerate.  Register only if you have the best intentions of coming.  Places are limited and we don’t want someone else to miss out on the opportunity of coming.
